Mr. Karthik Rajan

Karthik has spent more than half of his career of 24+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with SAVA Healthcare Limited (SHL). He joined SHL as AGM–Marketing in the SAVAVET Companion Animal (CA) business and went on to lead the unit as Business Unit Head, driving the BU to a leadership position in the space. Until recently, Karthik was the Chief Operating Officer overseeing the India Branded Pharma Business of SHL. In this role, he was responsible for three domestic marketing businesses – SAVAVET CA and the newly launched farm animal business – SAVAVET FA and SAVA Herbals. Additionally, Karthik had recently taken charge of the Contract Manufacturing for Bharat (CMB) business of SHL that caters to the requirements of Indian pharma clients as a CDMO/CMO.
Prior to joining SAVA, Karthik had stints with Biocon Ltd, Novartis, Panacea Biotec Ltd and Solvay in sales and marketing roles. Karthik has built a strong reputation for building business strategies through sustaining customer relationships, driving marketing initiatives, and driving business growth. His critical experiences are in executing innovative go-to-market models in dynamic regulatory environments, building and sustaining high-performing teams and manoeuvring businesses ahead.
Karthik is a pharmacy graduate of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani and is currently pursuing a Certification Course in Leading with AI at Indian School of Business (ISB) – Hyderabad.
Karthik has been recognized by the Pet Practitioners Association of Mumbai (PPAM) for his contribution to small animal healthcare practice in India. He spends his leisure time reading, sketching portraits, and building terrariums.
