The Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) started the initiative to help such people to return to their homes and loved ones and have a second go at life. Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s message of selflessness, kindness and humility immensely touched the heart of Vinod Ramchandra Jadhav like many other philanthropists. Funds collected through the initiative was successfully used and as of December 2022, about 131 such people were repatriated. The unique aspect of the initiative was that the donor would not know whom they helped and those who receive help would not know from whom it came from.

Vinod’s inspiration came from his father Late Shri R N Jadhav. Fondly called “Kalyanrao for his social work, he was involved in many social initiatives like the quarry worker rights movement, the first rickshaw union in Pune, career counselling work for young students and raising awareness about other social issues. He worked passionately for the upliftment of poor students. He made many efforts to set up a hostel for needy students in Pune. His wish couldn’t be fulfilled due to his untimely death.

“The Kalyanrao Jadhva hostel is being built in his memory and I hope the hostel facilities will be used for the kalyan or welfare of future generations of students”, said Vinod on the occasion. Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti (VSS) provides hostel facilities for disadvantaged students who travel to Pune for higher education from remote places.  Admission is granted solely based on financial need and merit to the most deserving needy student. Each student receives a 50% subsidy, with the remainder raised by the student through an earn and learn scheme.

Vidhyarthi Sahayak Samiti (VSS) I 2022

Vinod Ramchandra Jadhav was the Chief Guest at the ground breaking ceremony of the 250 bed Girls’s hostel at Shivajinagar Pune. Vidhyarthi Sahayak Samiti (VSS) is noble organisation providing hostel facility

Pune. Admission is given to the most deserving needy student purely based on financial conditions and merit.
Each student is provided with 50% subsidy and remaining Money is raised by the student thru Earn & learn scheme
(कमवा आणि शिका).

In 2019 my friend Vijay Kadam introduced me to VSS. One of the problems with girl students is the limited capacity at the currently functional hostel. Many times parents decide not to pursue the higher education if they don’t get reliable (and affordable) hostel for girls, The doors then permanently close for such aspiring girls. With VSS, we decided to participate in capacity building for girls and here came the idea of this exclusive 250 bed hostel only for girls.

Happy School project

Happy School project falls under ROTARY INDIA LITERACY MISSION and is an important project of Rotary District 3131.

Conditions of schools in rural areas are very bad. Enthusiastic atmosphere does not exist. It leads to students leaving education. If we can make changes in the school environment, students would take more interest in education and school activities. An ideal school will also attract more students and teachers. Students in the school are from very poor families and their parents are worried about their children’s education and bright future. Creating a HAPPY SCHOOL out of existing old school would help a lot in retaining existing students and also it will attract more students in joining school.

SAVA HEALTHCARE LIMITED is happy to partner with Rotary district 3131 for this CSR project. Through Rotary Club of Pune Heritage Charitable Trust, SAVA has contributed towards CSR initiatives to the tune starting from Rs.10L and is committed to give further encouragement  for the Happy School project of around Rs.1 Crores.
